Coffee Houses and Tea Shops in Bath

Taking in all the sights can be hard work, we recommend you take a well-deserved rest in one of Bath’s fantastic coffee houses or tea shops! There are so many to choose from but you can’t go wrong with these few below.
For the #1 coffee house in Bath (according to Tripadvisor!) from our sister hotel the Harington’s City Hotel head to the other side of Queen’s Square to Chapel Row (BA1 1HN) and you will reach Colonna & Small’s. Colonna’s & Small’s main ethos is all about getting the best coffee possible according to seasonality, with their coffees changing weekly. They’re real coffee experts!
If you prefer your tea over coffee then Comins Tea Fine Tea Merchants is perfect, located on Monmouth St (BA1 2AN) this tea shop is tucked away behind the Theatre Royal. Comins Bath is a modern take on the traditional tea house offering fine loose-leaf teas from across the globe. You can also purchase specialised teaware and gift sets.
Sandwiched between the tiny shops in the Corridor (BA1 5AR) is Italian style cafe Rosarios serving some gorgeous coffees and a wonderful Italian hot chocolate – have with Cointreau for that extra kick! Take it all in with some traditional cannoli imported from Sicily and unwind in the wonderful atmosphere.
You will find one of the first Boston Tea Party cafes in Kingsmead Square (BA1 2AE) or if you’re up towards the Circus and Assembly Rooms you can its larger relation on Alfred Street (BA1 2QU). A popular destination offering laid-back surroundings with a great selection of teas and coffees. Voted one of the best places for brunch!
When venturing towards the Abbey you’re in the perfect place to relax at Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on Orange Grove (BA1 1LP), with its Alice in Wonderland theme this is definitely the quirkiest place for tea in Bath!
If you fancy coffee over tea Mokoko has quickly become a favourite in Bath! With two shops in the centre, the original smaller café is on Dorchester Street (BA1 1SS) with a newer branch having just opened in the Abbey Courtyard (BA1 1LY) just opposite the Roman Baths. Serving espresso and filter coffees you’re sure to find the perfect pick-me-up.
Scattered all around the city centre are fabulous places for a great cup of coffee or tea, have a wander and try to find your favourite!
